The 2020 edition gives an overview of the organizations, educational programs, quality control, and employment situations of sign language interpreters in Europe. It is based on a 2020 survey, held among national organizations of sign language interpreters in European countries and regions. Qualitative and quantitative survey data allows readers to do an in-depth analysis of the current state of affairs in the European field of sign language interpreting. Presentation "Sign language interpretation during the pandemic: opportunities and responsibilities"

On 3 December SCIC, the Directorate Generale for Interpretation at the European Commission, hosted an online event. I was honored to be invited to present. My presentation entitled "Sign language interpretation during the pandemic: opportunities and responsibilities" discussed the responsibilities that we have as sign language interpreters to provide the best quality interpretation, also during a pandemic.

Report on the first European seminar on Sign language interpreting on TV and media

In November 2019 the first European seminar on signed language interpreting on TV and media took place. The newly published report that I wrote with Sheyla Perez and Paal Richard Peterson provides an insight into current topics on sign language interpreting on TV and media. Overall, the main outcome of the seminar was that there is an urgent need for a specialized training for sign language interpreters working on TV and media.
