Bridging the Gap #4 is an event that aims to bring Deaf people, community organisations and research communities together to 'bridge the gap'. Already, Deaf and hearing researchers work together with the common aim to develop their research interests with the Deaf community but how this is done is the challenge. This conference will focus specifically on the methods and methodologies we use.
The main themes include:
- Community and university partnership
- Development of community-centred research design
- Community-led research activities
- Universities engaging with communities to develop research aims and methods
Keynote speakers:
Dr Steven Emery (Heriot-Watt University)
Dr Dai O’Brien (York St. John University)
John Walker (Sussex University & University of Brighton)
